The Spread

A card-based system for running sexual encounters in TTRPGs.

The Spread is a fast encounter resolution system for solo or group play. It takes around 10–20 minutes to run, using only a standard deck of poker cards.

What it does

---

• Guides sexual encounters with structure and tension.
• Tracks relationship growth, fetishes, intimacy, trust, and influence with NPCs.
• Lets you record “memories” that change how NPCs see and respond to you in the future.
• Works on its own, or as a module you plug into your existing TTRPG.

How it plays

---

1. Set the scene and pick the starting stage.
2. Draw cards and match them with your hand to resolve actions.
   • Big success: the NPC jolts with surprise.
   • Success: they align with your intent.
   • Slip-off: they ask you to adjust.
   • Fatal flaw: they resist or reject.
3. Advance through escalating stages — from warm-up, to foreplay, to climax, to aftermath.
4. Score your encounter and mark memories that change the relationship.

Why use it

• Keeps sex scenes engaging instead of drifting into freeform vagueness.
• Adds tactical weight without slowing down play.
• Builds continuity: fetishes, sliders, and memories matter across sessions.
• Gives both players and DMs clear tools for describing what happens.

What you need

• A deck of poker cards.
• A flat surface to spread them.
• Optional: a notebook for results, cheat sheet, or character sheets.

• One NPC Sheet for tracking the story forming between the player and them.
• Four blank NPC Sheets for printing in A4.
• Additional instructions for generating casual encounters for the player.
• Four blank Encounter sheets for printing an filling.
